The Algarve Motorpark is hosting the 1000km race of the Le Mans Series Championship for the second year running this weekend. Once again the 1000 kilometre race will be taking place at night, with lots of entertainment lined up for the evening.
Over thirty cars will be competing in the main race of the Le Mans Series 1000km race, which will bring a little taste of the 24 hour epic race, especially as it takes place at night. Adding to the excitement of night racing is the fact that many world renowned drivers will be competing for the first prize, amongst whom are Giancarlo Fisichella, Jean Alesi and Olivier Panis; as well as spectators having the opportunity to see unique cars roaring around the track, such as the Lola Aston Martin, the Peugeot 908 HDi FAP, the Lola B10/60 Coupé-Rebellion and others.
A Ford Transit Trophy race will also be taking place during the action packed weekend, as well as heaps of activities to keep the crowds entertained, such as autograph sessions, live DJ’s, aerobatics and much more.
The Le Mans Series 1000km race will begin at 5pm and end around six hours later on Saturday evening. Tickets are still available online at: www.autodromodoalgarve.com, at the Algarve Motorpark’s shop or at regular selling points in supermarkets. Prices start from €10.
